Day One

First Stop on the MC ride
What a fun day! I met early in the morning with the Salt Lake City Can-Am Spyder motorcycle club... We went on a 4 hour, 150 mile ride through the most beautiful countryside and then up to the high peaks in the Rockies near several ski resorts... We got up to about 8000 feet and there wasn't any snow.... It was at about 12,000 feet thank goodness...
There were about 25-30 bikes on the ride
This was stop number 3
This was a great resource for me to learn about my bike and tips and tricks for riding... The folks were all super nice and took great interest in my adventure... All the guys said it was so cool while their wives looked on with a little disdain... It was just one beautiful view after another, and the big challenge was keeping my eye on the road instead of all the cool scenery... We saw deer and turkeys but no elk...  I thing I learned was this is not a sign you want to see....  Moose Crossing Signs, Moose, Engineer Grade Reflective Aluminum Sign, 80 mil, 18"x18"
We then heading high up in the mountains on some very windy roads with very long drop offs... I just fell in line and did what everyone else did. We stopped at the Ski area near Silver Lake and took the cool pictures below
It was pretty cold up there but I had on several layers

The map below was the approximate route....

$200 bucks!!!!!
High Adventure Powersports sponsored the ride and we ended up at their dealership for a delicious lunch spread.... The ride was called a Poker Run because during our ride we had 5 stops and at each stop you picked a playing card from the deck... Who ever had the best poker hands when we got back to High Adventure Powersports won prizes... I got 2nd place with 3 deuces and won the gift card in the pic.... This was really a cool morning...

After lunch I said goodbye to all my new rider friends and the buds at High Adventure... This is where I bought my bike so me and general manager Drew Adamson already feel like old friends... I think I am going to have to come back and see these folks sometime.... They do have these Poker Runs once a year... (nobody tell Nancy ok?)  From there I did a 3 hour drive to Idaho Falls and got sprinkled on a couple of times... Nothing got wet but dampness makes ya cold...

I got checked in to my hotel and noticed there was a Jakers restaurant nearby... I got a good walk in to get there and back. Man that was good food, if your ever in Idaho Falls you should eat there... Somebody along the way had recommended it to me and they were spot on... I just can't remember who recommended it... I guess I am getting old 😕
